Support Groups for Foster Families

Marion County currently has two support groups that meet monthly. The purpose is to provide child specific training and resources as well as networking for the foster parents. The training portion of the evening is documented towards the required continued education and training that all certified foster parents must complete. Marion County is in the process of creating multiple support groups for foster homes. The need for separate support groups is driven by the child specific topics of trainings as well as unique issues and struggles that are found in the different types of certified foster homes.
